I am a PhD researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam focusing on quantum sensing. My work involves the use of quantum entanglement to improve modern optical clocks for high-precision timekeeping and fundamental physics applications.
Before my doctoral studies, I completed my master’s in physics at the University of Hamburg, my home city in Northern Germany. There, I worked on scattered light noise suppression for gravitational wave detectors, such as LIGO or the future Einstein Telescope. Following this, I spent nearly a year at the European Space Agency (ESA), which provided me with a unique look into the mechanics of R&D funding and strategy before I returned to experimental research.
Outside the lab, I am a passionate rock guitarist and marathon runner.
